A paid AI photobooth that ran on its own for weeks at the Christmas market

The brief

Buro Binnenstad Tilburg organises Winter in Tilburg, the Christmas market and winter garden in the city centre. They wanted an attraction for visitors that could stay for the whole season, without someone having to stand next to it.

What we did

• The booth got its own wooden cabin in the winter garden on the Pieter Vreedeplein, built to our measurements by the market's builders.
• Fully self-service: visitors pick a vibe and a style, pay by card and see their AI photo on the screen straight away.
• For €5 visitors take home two prints, in a print template with the Winter in Tilburg branding that the Buro Binnenstad team designed themselves.
• A wintery moodboard of AI styles, such as a Christmas elf in a festive workshop, agreed with Buro Binnenstad.
• Set up before the opening on 22 November, then in place for the whole season.

What the AI photos look like

Examples in the wintery styles: a Christmas elf in the workshop, an evening at a snowy Christmas market and a family of elves. Recreated for this page with fictional guests, so the photos of real visitors stay private.

Results

• More than six weeks in use on its own at the market
• €5 for two prints: a paid attraction that visitors pay for themselves
• For everyone: families, couples and groups of friends made their own winter photo
• No host needed: the booth also works unattended in a public place
